What's new at Gauhati University?

• Candidates shortlisted for PhD can confirm their admission between Sep 16 to Sep 24 and the classes will take place from Sep 26 onward. 
• The final merit list for GU B.Ed is out. Candidates can check the same on the official website. 
• Gauhati University has released merit lists 2022 for admission to various PG and Integrated programmes, including MA, MTech, MSc, MCom, MBA, BA LLB and BA LLB (Hons) between Aug 5 and 9. Candidates selected for MSc Biotechnology must report to the university campus on Aug 16. Also, candidates selected for various MA, MSc and MTech programmes were expected to report between Aug 12 and 13.

Gauhati University admission process is completely paperless; for all PG courses, it is subject to candidates' performance in the Offline Entrance Test, conducted by the university. Gauhati University is a public state university that started with 18 affiliated colleges and 8 Post Graduate Departments in 1948. Today, it offers all its UG, PG, diploma, certificate and doctoral courses via 39 PG departments and a constituent Law college. Additionally, it also has 341 colleges affiliated with it that offer UG and PG courses in the faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, and Engineering. It also has an Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) to offer distance learning programmes to the students.

Gauhati University offers master’s programmes in numerous streams across Arts, Science & Technology, Law, Commerce and Management via its departments, affiliated colleges and autonomous institutes. The admission process to PG courses ends up with over 1,800 students getting admitted across its postgraduate departments. In addition to the undergraduate and postgraduate courses, Gauhati University also offers a wide range of UG and PG Certificate courses along with a number of PG Diploma and Advanced Diploma programmes.
