JEE Advance

Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) across India for admissions to undergraduate Engineering, Architecture and Planning degree courses at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments.  JEE (Main) also functions as an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. The examination takes place annually towards the beginning of the calendar year.

Students can pursue the following courses after qualifying JEE Main:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (BE)
  • Bachelor of Technology (BTech)
  • Bachelor of Architecture (BArch)
  • Bachelor of Planning (BPlan)

JEE Main examination comprises 2 papers for which students can appear:

  • Paper 1 is for 300 marks and is conducted for admission to undergraduate Engineering programmes.
  • Paper 2 is for 400 marks and is conducted for admission to undergraduate Architecture (Paper 2A)  and Planning (Paper 2B) programmes.

JEE Main 2023 is to be conducted in two sessions for admission in the academic session beginning in 2023. This provides the candidates with the opportunity to improve their scores in case their first attempt is not satisfactory, thus reducing the chances for students to drop a year. If anyone misses the examination due to reasons beyond control (such as the Board examination), then they will not have to wait for one entire year. Candidates need not appear in both sessions. However, if a candidate appears in more than one session then their best of the JEE (Main) - 2023 NTA Scores will be considered for preparation of the Merit List/ Ranking.
