STAR RACER 27 February 2020

Trainer Darius Byramji’s hot-footed Multifaceted (Suraj Narredu-up), from the South and  Imtiaz Sait’s champion speedster Iron Age (Trevor Patel), from western India, are expected battle it out for honours in the 1,200m Sprinters’ Cup, at the Mysore races on Saturday, the Day-I of the two-day ‘Invitational’ bonanza.
Multifaceted is the highest rated horse in the field of 10. But Mumbai professionals dismiss such mathematical calculations. “The superior Class will be there to see after the 4pm event;” said a Mumbai trainer. Yes, its going to be hell of a race”, he added.
However, there is no denying that Multifaceted is a tearaway type while Iron Age builds up lead gradually to demonstrate his sprinting power. In fact, it a toss-up between the two but Southern challenger has a thin edge over Iron Age in this sprint of the year.
The 3,000m Stayers’ Cup, however, may see trainer Pesi Shroff’s well performed horse, Sacred Roman (Y. S. Srinath) coming good. The Holy Roman Emperor son is winner of the last edition of the race and the age is also by his side.
