Calcutta: Trainer Vijay Singh’s Black Pearl, a champion in the making, posted another big win, here, on the New Year’s Day. The PlanetaireAlvarita son drubbed the opposiion on his way to winning the prestigious Indian Produce Stakes.
The Pearl (Suraj Narredu-up) had won the Hong Kong Jockey Club Cup, early last month, with an equal ease. Vijay went on to score a treble in the afternoon’s nineevent card.
The 2,200m RCTC Gold Vase was claimed by trainer Javed Khan’s favourite, Arrowfield (Imran Chisty), the horse’s third win in-a-row.
