The Higher and Technical Education Minister of Maharashtra, Mr Uday Samant, on Thursday confirmed a three-day extension for students to submit online application forms for Mumbai University’s final semester exams. Mr Samant made the announcement while speaking to reporters after conducting a review meeting on Mumbai University exams. He said, “The university has extended the period for submission of exam applications upto September 20. A total of 2,47,500 students would appear for the final year examinations.”

As many as 1,70,000 of these students are regular ones whereas the rest are taking the exam to clear the backlog, he further added.

The result certificates will have no mention of the exam being conducted during COVID-19 pandemic situation, he clarified. “The certificate will be normal, a regular piece of paper,” the minister said.

The practical exams for regular students have already started from September 15, while that for backlog papers will be conducted from September 25. Mumbai University’s final-year exams will be held online, and those who are unable to take the exams online will be allowed to appear physically.
