The Government of Goa is planning to allow class 10 and 12 students in schools October 2 onwards. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that a decision will be taken after consultation with stakeholders, adding that the decisions will depend on the Covid situation at the time of meeting. A virtual meeting was conducted between the CM and education stakeholders, where reopening of schools and implementation of the NEP 2020 was discussed.

Meanwhile, class 10 and 12 students can all visit voluntarily, and take help from their teachers as mentioned in Unlock 4 guidelines. Chief Minister and also the Education Minister of Goa, Mr Pramod Sawant, said, “Decision regarding restarting of schools for class 10 and 12 will be taken only after October 2 in consultation with experts and considering the pandemic situation. Internet connectivity is still an issue for students in villages, the government will address this as soon as possible.”

The CM also urged the stakeholders and representatives to go through the New Education Policy 2020 and come up with suggestions. “Every teacher, headmaster and PTA member should study the policy and give their valuable inputs to the task force committees,” he said.
