Admission in Delhi University under the Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) category will be based on certificates. In this situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, the varsity has decided not to have the ECA admissions, but candidates NCC and NSS certificates will be considered. The last date to register for merit-based courses has been extended till August 31.
The decision was on hold and it has been finalised that admissions under 12 categories, including music, dance, yoga, will be based on certificates.
The statement from the university read, “The registration for admission to all courses (UG, PG, M.Phil. / Ph.D.) through entrance shall close on July 31. However, the registration for admission through merit shall remain open till August 31.”
Applicants under the ECA, and already registered students willing to apply under ECA, can register themselves from August 1 to 31st. The already registered students have to pay an additional fee of Rs 100 to do so.
The statement further mentioned that the varsity will announce the cut-offs in September. Applicants may register for a maximum of three ECA categories.

“Admissions under ECA will be done based on merit/participation certificates of applicants. Applicants would be required to upload a maximum of best five certificates of the preceding three years (May 1, 2017, to April 30, 2020). Updated certificates will not be considered for marking,” the varsity added.
Certificates uploaded by an applicant shall be scrutinised and evaluated out of a maximum of 100 marks. Applicants scoring 20 marks and above in uploaded certificates shall be eligible for the final merit list of admission based on ECA.
The marks under the ECA category will be awarded based on the sum of the total marks awarded in the three best certificates uploaded by a candidate.
The certificates of all candidates will go through a forensic examination and editing of forms will not be allowed in their registered email ID, category and gender, in the number of courses an applicant has chosen for the entrance test in the undergraduate courses, entrance test center chosen by the applicants at the time of registration. Applicants will only be allowed to modify documents such as caste certificate, EWS certificate, mark-sheet, minority certificate, medical certificate, supporting documents for ECA and sports.
The opening of the updating window will be announced between August and September.
