Firhad Hakim in a press meet today said that Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) still has not received any stock of Covishield. The KMC is expecting a shipment of the inoculation soon. “If the Covishield stock arrives by tonight we will start vaccinating people again by Monday,” added Mr. Hakim, Chairman of Board of Administrators, KMC.
He further said that he had asked the Health Secretary for a buffer stock of 1 lakh Covishield. “Since KMC is not just vaccinating people from Kolkata but also from the neighbouring districts and all those people who come to Kolkata for their bread and butter, we need more supply.”
